How do I choose a storage center?
It's best to call first and ask questions. Ask about high tech security, quality steel and concrete construction, convenient access and location. Is the storage center near your home or work? Is it close to a major road or highway?
After your call, you should stop in and see things for yourself. As you tour, make sure the buildings and grounds are clean and well-maintained. Check out more than one size space and think about how you'll arrange things. Look for security cameras, sturdy fences and plenty of lighting. See if your space will be easy to get to and if you'll be moving with a large vehicle, check on truck accessibility. Talk to the manager about what services are offered and what moving supplies are for sale. Work with a reliable company, with a good reputation. Whether it's a move to a new home or storage for business, you want to choose the storage center that is convenient to use and will protect your property.
How much space will I need?
There are several things to think about when you rent a storage
space. You can rent either a standard space or a climate controlled
space, based on the items you're storing. And you can choose
from our variety of sizes and locations. It's a good idea
to stop in and look at several spaces. Think about how you'll
arrange your items. Ask if there's a larger or smaller size,
in case you need it. If the space is available, it takes just
a few minutes to transfer your reservation to the new size.
Our storage consultants will help you find the space that is
the best value and meets your needs. Monthly rates are based
on the size of your space, not how much is stored inside.
Remember, an efficiently packed small space will cost less
than a larger space.

How should I store things?
You'll want to pack your space carefully. Make sure all small
items are in a box or plastic container. Leave air space around
the outside to help air move. Do not lean items against the
walls. It's a good idea to place a pallet on the concrete
floor. You'll want to place frequently used items near the
door and put your valuables away from the door, out of sight.
Fill boxes completely because partly filled boxes collapse
when stacked. Place heavy boxes on the bottom and lighter
boxes or fragile items near the top. Keep upholstery off the
floor. Do not wrap or tightly cover furniture in plastic.
Allow space between the fabric and a cover. If you have a
lot of boxes, use sturdy shelving to keep fragile items on
a firm surface and to distribute weight. Shelves let you organize
your belongings and sometimes get a smaller space.
Do I need to insure my property?
When you rent a self-storage space, you are the only one
who knows what you are storing. Since it is your property,
you are responsible for the insurance. Check with your homeowner's
or renter's insurance to verify coverage.
If your property is not covered, ask one of our helpful storage consultants to provide you with information about insurers who provide
low-cost insurance coverage. Self-storage providers are, by
contract and by law, not responsible for any loss or damage
of property and do not provide any insurance on stored property.
